The Foundations of Winands Road Synagogue Center

Winands Road Synagogue Center is the only shul in this area of Baltimore County.

Our unique congregation includes long-time members as well as members who were active in other shuls which have since closed. Together, both groups are part of Winands Road Synagogue family.  Our religious services are conducted by Rabbi Sholom Salfer.

It is our mission is to provide Jewish prayer services to our community and support our membership in preserving their Jewish Heritage.

LIFE CYCLE EVENTS ARE SPECIAL TO US

Shabbat Kiddush (light refreshment) for all the attendees is a regular weekly event at Winands Road Synagogoue. Handled by our excellent Kiddush Committee volunteers, it is often sponsored by one or more members to commemorate a special personal milestone.

Celebrations - We rejoice in opportunities to celebrate Weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Bris and Baby naming celebrations for members and also for 'not-yet' members.

Keeping Active - Our Brotherhood-Sisterhood members enjoy special Sunday morning programs about once a month. These programs are entertaining and informative and include a delicious full course hot breakfast. Members maintain old friendships and make new friends. Guests are also welcome at a nominal fee. Advance resevations are required for both members and guests for each program.

Yahrtzeit - The tradition of remembering our loved ones who passed away is solemnly kept by using our Yahrtzeit notification program. In addition, the Rabbi recalls their names during the Shabbat service preceding the anniversary of their date of death.

Many people choose to purchase a commemorative engraved bronze plaque which includes the name and dates in both  Hebrew and English. These plaques are displayed in the sanctuary. During the week preceding the yahrtzeit, a light is lit on the plaque.
